Choices offers a range of professional development opportunities designed to support teachers as they implement our resources in their classrooms. Our professional development is teacher-centered and brings together the best scholarship and pedagogy available.

Institutes

Institutes engage participants in scholarship on a specific topic while also providing an opportunity to explore ways to incorporate the Choices Program’s resources and approach to international issues.

The Summer Leadership Institute is the cornerstone of the Choices Teaching Fellows Program. Hear what some of the Teaching Fellows are saying about the Choices Program by visiting Teacher Conversations.

Online Learning Module

Social Studies Excellence: The Choices Approach introduces educators to the Choices approach and resources for teaching contested international issues. This free, self-paced learning module can be used by social studies supervisors, Methods professors, and individual teachers.

Upcoming Workshops

The Choices Program offers introductory workshops at professional conferences. Educators can also find us in the exhibit hall at national and regional conferences.

District and TAH Workshops

Choices staff and local Choices Teaching Fellows look forward to conducting a program in your district as part of an in-service or a TAH grant. . Programs introduce teachers to Choices resources and approach to addressing contested current and historical international issues. There is a fee for our services.
