Choices offers a range of professional development opportunities designed to support teachers and district leaders as they implement our resources in their classrooms. Our professional development is teacher-centered and brings together the best scholarship and pedagogy available.
One-day introductory workshops are offered nationwide. Led by local Teaching Fellows, these sessions are designed to introduce teachers to Choices curriculum units and approach.

Leadership Institutes engage participants in scholarship on a specific topic while also providing an opportunity to explore ways to incorporate the Choices Program’s resources and approach to international and public policy issues.

Social Studies Excellence: The Choices Approach introduces educators to the Choices approach and resources for teaching contested international and public policy issues. This free, self-paced learning module can be used by social studies supervisors, Methods professors, and individual teachers.
Choices staff or a local Choices Teaching Fellow look forward to tailoring a program in your district to meet your specific professional development goals. Programs introduce teachers to Choices resources and approach to addressing contested current and historical international and public policy issues. There is a fee for our services.
