Introductory Workshops
Our introductory workshops provide participating educators with an overview of the Choices approach to addressing contested current and historical international issues. Participants learn about the Choices program and philosophy, experience the Choices approach through model lessons, and receive guidance for effective implementation.
Advanced Workshops
For schools and districts wishing to go beyond the basics, the Choices Program offers customized workshops. These programs are designed to show how the Choices curriculum can be applied in a wide range of classroom settings. Each program is tailored to specifically meet the needs of the contracting school or district.

Materials |
We recommend two units per teacher. Our minimum is one unit per teacher. (For smaller groups, there is a minimum of 20 units per workshop.) |

Travel |
Travel costs include travel, living expenses, and travel time. |

Cancellation Fee |
If a program is cancelled within four weeks of the workshop date, there is a cancellation fee. |

TAH Programs |
A one-day workshop for 25 teachers ranges from $2500 to $6000 A typical 5-day summer institute for 25 teachers, taking place at Brown University, costs approximately $45,000. This involves a mix of scholarship and pedagogy and includes room, board, and materials. Travel is the responsibility of the sending district. Note: Pricing of workshops and institutes depends on the length of program, number of teachers, and location. |
The Choices Program will consider alternative fee structures in some situations. Choices also offers multi-day teaching institutes. Questions should be addressed to choices@brown.edu. Please put "professional development" in the subject line.
