Workshop Resources for Choices Teaching Fellows

The Choices Teaching Fellows Program promotes excellence in social studies by supporting a corps of master teachers who conduct teacher-centered professional development and outreach activities nationwide. The resources below may be helpful to Teaching Fellows in their outreach activities.

Workshop Powerpoint

Choices gives permission to its Teaching Fellows to tailor this powerpoint to their particular workshop needs. Contact the Choices Program if you are looking for a power point on a particular unit; we may be able to assist you.

Workshop Evaluation Form

Please feel free to adapt this form to your needs.

Values activity

One of our mandates as teachers is to help students become active citizens by entering into the national dialogue on public policy issues. Consideration of values is central to these discussions. However, some students enter the discussion unsure of what is meant by values. This simple values exercise can clarify the concept and allow the student to move forward.

Self-paced Learning Module

Social Studies Excellence: The Choices Approach is a self-paced, noncredit learning module designed to introduce educators to the Choices approach and resources for teaching about contested international issues.
