Day Two: Role-Playing a UN Decision
These videos can be used to supplement the Day Two lesson plan in The United Nations: Challenges and Change. The printed lesson directs students to examine a hypothetical international crisis from the perspective of multiple countries. Students explore the UN decision-making system and deliberate about possible responses to the crisis. The following videos could be used as an introduction to the activity, or could be used as part of the debrief to help students consider the effectiveness of the UN’s decision-making bodies and the UN’s ability to address human rights violations.
