Scholars Online

Podcasting Frequently Asked Questions

What is a podcast?

Our podcasts are collections of videos, designed to complement our written curriculum. They are syndicated over the internet for download to your personal computer or for playback on a MP4 player.

How much do podcasts cost?

Podcasts from the Choices Program are free to use, but they are expensive for us to produce. We gladly accept contributions to help us fund programs such as these. Visit our contributions page for more detail.

Do I need iTunes to play the Choices podcasts?

No. Although all of the units that we have posted on Scholars Online are available through the iTunes store, you do not need iTunes to access the videos. You can copy and paste the link listed for each unit into your preferred podcast software (eg. Zune, My Yahoo).

Do I need an iPod to play these videos?

No. You can play the videos directly on your computer. You can also transfer them to your MP4 player and watch them anywhere.

What is the difference between downloading a podcast and subscribing to one?

Through iTunes you can download each separate video that you would like to watch. Once downloaded these videos can be found in the podcast section of iTunes. You can also subscribe to a podcast. When you subscribe, any new videos that we post for that unit will automatically download to your computer.
