Below are the three criteria a written policy briefing should include. The statements numbered 1.2. and 3. under each criteria indicate the extent to which the criteria exist in your group's work. Your goal is to achieve a 3 in each category. Use written feedback under each criteria to improve your work, if necessary.

  1. Includes some of the findings available through the web and text resources.  Does not summarize the findings.         
  2. Includes all findings available through the web and text resources. Summary statements are suggestive but not entirely clear.  
  3. Includes all findings available through the web and text resources. Summarizes the findings through clear statements.

Recommendation for action

  1. Recommendation for action is present but unclear to the listener/reader.
  2. Recommendation for action is clearly stated.

Evidence that justifies the recommendation

  1. Some evidence is linked to the recommendation and explained in the briefing.
  2. Most evidence available or evidence considered most important is linked to the recommendation and the link is explained in the briefing.
  3. All evidence available is linked to the recommendation and organized in a manner that explains its relative importance to the justification that supports the recommendation for action.
