Five teachers from The Turning Points Teaching American History Program joined the teachers from Omaha. Read about the scholars who participated. Read the update on the new teaching resources on slavery in New England.

Fall 2004 — Read about how Rhode Island teachers are building on their experience in the summer institute and working with the "Priscilla Project." Learn about the leadership that summer institute teachers are taking now that they are back home.

Summer 2004 — Learn about the 2004 summer institute on the slave trade, slavery in New England, and its imprint on race in America. Read about the scholars who participated. Learn about the field trip to Newport to explore the grave stones at "God's Little Acre" and learn about life for free blacks and slaves in 18th cenury Newport.
