Students consider the perspectives of various stakeholders—colonists, enslaved Africans, and Native peoples—and explore the factors that led to rebellion, war, and the independence of the U.S.
Getting Started with the Choices U.S. History Series: Spotlight on the American Revolution and Civil War Units
Start planning now to implement either the American Revolution unit or the Civil War unit in the upcoming school year!
Maybe you’ve heard the buzz about the Choices Program. Maybe you have used the free short Teaching with the News lessons and free videos, but have never tried out a unit in your classroom. Here is your chance to do so, at no cost.
The webinar will walk you through the basic format of a Choices unit and highlight the skills and competencies promoted in all of our U.S. History units. We’ll then break down both featured units in terms of reading, lessons, and videos, and discuss implementation strategies. At the end of the webinar, you’ll select which unit you would like a one-year license to.
Note that this webinar will begin at 7 pm ET.
This is a free webinar. Each participant will receive a complimentary one-year Digital Editions license for either The American Revolution: Experiences of Rebellion or The Civil War and the Meaning of Liberty.
While all are welcome, the webinar is targeted to U.S. History teachers new to using Choices units.
