Heather Sanford is a doctoral student in the Department of History at Brown University. Her research explores the relationship between food systems and slavery in the colonial British Atlantic. She is currently the Interdisciplinary Graduate Dissertation Fellow at the Center for the Study of Slavery and Justice at Brown. Heather is a contributor to the forthcoming Choices curriculum unit on slavery in the Americas.
